Shield Type Rubber Dam with Modular Design

Shield type rubber dam, composed of air filled rubber bladders and steel shield plates, is a novel alternative to traditional rubber dam. It is ideal for channels, spillways and other various applications with sediment, bedload and floating debris.

However,  shield type rubber dams are easy to repair in that you can only replace the broken part instead of the whole bladder.   Whether it be narrow or wide span of watercourses, the shield type rubber dam can be applied without central piers.
• A longer service life
  The hard steel shield plate can not only mark the height of retaining water, but also insolate the soft rubber bladder against water. In this way, the shield protects the rubber bladder from the sharp objects and extends the service life of dam.
• Multi-level applications.
  Shield type rubber dams are ideal for water retaining structure, hydraulic power system, urban landscape, irrigation, water and flood diversion and various applications.
  • Power system: Shield type rubber dam can enhance the power generation capacity of hydropower station by retaining a high water level of upstream up to 0.5m above the top of steel sluice plate. In winter, the shield can effectively prevent the ice from stoppage of power station.
  • Water retaining: The dam can balance the flood discharge ability and the water level of upstream. Meanwhile, you can low the steel shield panel without any affecting of the reservoir’s level and power generation efficiency when the flood discharge ability of the spillway is deficient 
  • Navigation: The shield type rubber dam with simple structure can be used as an excellent sluice gate when the ship is driving up or down the river. It allows ships to pass through smoothly by means of lowing the steel shield plates.
  • Irrigation: The dam can provide accurately control over the waterhead and flow capacity of the irrigation channels to ensure the uniformity of water distribution.
