Types of Inflatable Rubber Dams

Inflatable rubber dam, a long tubular-shaped fabric, has been widely used as a water control structure long before mid-1950s. As a seamless structure fixed to a reinforced concrete foundation using clamp plates and anchor bolts, the dam is inflated with air or water in designed height and pressure to raise the upstream water level.

Inflatable rubber dam is considered to be a low cost, versatile choice to create pondage, control flood, divert water for irrigation, raise existing dams, prevent dam overtopping as well as chemical spilling in the streams. To suit different constructions, various types of rubber dams can be supplied by our company as follows:

Material:

It is made of a multi-layer fabric comprising strength canvas and rubber layers which consist outer, middle and inner layers of rubber. The outer rubber layer features excellent resistance to abrasion, UV, heat and ozone. The middle and inner layers are designed to protect canvas and make these layers of materials more closely. The canvas acts as the force-bearing frame of the dam to provide great flexural stress resistance as well as superb adhesion function.

If you request, a layer of stainless steel mesh or ceramic chips can be embedded in the surface layer to protect the dam from fatal damages.
