A Low Cost Choice - Air Filled Rubber Dam
Air filled rubber dam, as its name implies, is a type of rubber weir inflated by pumping air inside the rubber body to form the shape of circle with designed height and pressure. Placed across channels, streams and weir crest, the air filled rubber dam is used more widely to store water or divert water for irrigation.

Air filled rubber dam
Features
- Much quicker to inflate and deflate the dam by air blowers with negative pressure up to 0.25 bar.
- Lower cost - that is because it does not need expensive water pumps, wide concrete sill and expensive pipelines with bigger diameter.
- Shorter and circular shape means narrower concrete sill is needed for installation.
- Lower power consumption taking advantage of photovoltaic system.
- Deflectors are available to reduce the vibrations of the dam.
- With maximum overtopping about 20% greater than the height of the rubber dam.
- Not be frozen in cold weather.
